Hey There! Welcome to the deck of my portfolio, let's give you a glimpse of me!
A remarkable memory of my childhood still makes me overwhelmed, I would break down every toys of my possession in an attempt to understand how and why they work as they do. In doing so, I succeeded at some and lost others. But, my broken toys never lessened my enthusiasm of exploring something new, I approached my next toys without any delay and with lessons from the failed ones to ensure success. At the present day, I still have the urge to learn something new, the enthusiasm of solving a problem and, the determination to obtain the desired goals. I always try to improvise, in almost every moment! So the version of me of this very moment is the best of me so far and the next moment It'll be the second to new one- that keeps me moving, helps me in fighting back every obstacles, pushes me in seizing my triumphs.
I am Md. Sakib Al Montasir, a graduate of the Department of Wet Process Engineering from Bangladesh University of Textiles, Dhaka, Bangladesh, with a CGPA of 3.61 (4.00). I have been passionately involved with the country's RMG industry since the beginning of my undergraduate life and so I have managed to visit six different textile industries on my own while being a student to gather practical knowledge and first-hand experience. Apart from academics and co-curricular career, I had been actively engaged in 10+ institutional, national, and international organizations, arranging 100+ events, workshops and campaigns, both as an organizer and as a participant.
Currently, I'm working as an "Sustainability and Circularity Engineer" at Reed Consultancy Bangladesh, trained on Water Management, chemical management, Climate Action, Energy assessment, Circular Economy by GIZ, UNIDO, Circle Economy and BUTEX. In the last 1.5 years, I have been incorporated with two of the projects of GIZ, namely 'WaSaTex' involving 50 textile factories to reduce process water consumption by consequent factory visits, process analysis & problem identification and 'Academia-Industry-Nexus' involving a series of events to connect the industry sector with academia focusing on women empowerment, mentorship, green jobs, job matching and job fair for textile industry of the country. I have also led the data collection for a project of UNIDO from 30 factories for evaluating readiness for digital product passports. Now, I am leading the data collector team consisting of 15 enumerators to conduct 300 quantitative surveys, 50 qualitative surveys, 4-6 key informant interviews and 2-3 focus group discussions around different clusters of Bangladesh.
Previously, I also worked as a "Research Assistant" at the Wet Process Lab at the Bangladesh University of Textiles, conducting research work on sustainability, circularity, recent advancements in textiles(Technical, and Technological), applying the concept of polymer composite and nanoparticle, especially in functional textiles, and synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials. My goal is to establish a career in sustainable supply chain and circular economy.
